Festival 2014

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world's largest humanitarian organization, providing assistance without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions.  Founded in 1919, the IFRC comprises 186 member Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies, a secretariat in Geneva and more than 60 delegations strategically located to support activities around the world. There are more societies in formation. The Red Crescent isused in place of the Red Cross in many Islamic countries. The IFRC vision: To inspire, encourage, facilitate and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies, with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering, and there by contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world. The Red Cross Ambulance Service in the Province of Valencia is to be the beneficiary of the Festival 2014 Appeal. A paramedic Ambulance has a service life of approximately four years and costs in the region of €55,000 to equip. It is our objective to supply four of these ambulances for service in Valencia, Javea, Alicante and Quesada, thereby contributing to the effectiveness of the Society and its humanitarian objectives throughout those areas. You are invited to join in this mission, which is in essence one of the fundamental priorities of all Masons in the World, Charity!

Sociedad Compás

When Masonry started here in Torrevieja around 1992, The Old Tower was the first Lodge, followed a couple of years later by Caledonia Lodge and later still by Logia Las Salinas. At first we were like Nomads, scurrying about with our folding pedestals etc. and we had to use any restaurant with a largish room for our meetings and Festive Board after. This proved to be quite unsatisfactory, so we decided to rent a large room in a restaurant called Los Arcos, where all of the Lodges settled. However, it was not very long before we realised that the amount we were paying in rental would pay off a mortgage. After several meetings of Lodges a committee of about six was cobbled together to assess various sites, which we did for several months. Eventually a young Mason in the building trade brought to our attention a particular building that we might be interested in. It was a hell of a mess! At one time it had been a 'Night Club' –

Provincial Festival 2014

This year at the Provincial Grand Lodge Assembly I announced that a Provincial Festival would be held in Valencia. I did this because I believe that as a Fraternity we should all come together and endeavour to make a significant difference to the community in which we live.

Most Lodges, as individuals, have done sterling work in raising funds for Charity but I now feel that it is time for us as a Province to make our mark. By all of us joining together we will be able to make a far greater difference not only to the lives of ourselves and our families but also to others.

Barrie R. MansellWelcome to the Province of Valencia web site. I extend this welcome to Masons and Non-Masons alike. To the Masons I say that I hope you will find something to interest you and that you may be encouraged to visit a Lodge, a telephone call or email to the Provincial Office will put you in touch with an appropriate Lodge and you will be most welcome.

To any Non-Masons I hope that you will find this site interesting and that if you have any questions you will contact me via email.

Freemasonry is not a secret society neither is it a religion. It hopes to show men the right way to behave and live, and to extend relief and charity to all - masons and non-masons alike.

This web Site is evolving and it needs your help to improve and continue to be of relevance please contact the Webmaster with any ideas or corrections.

gleDear Sir & Brother,

After due consideration, The Most Worshipful Grand Master has deemed it appropriate for our Institution to create mailing lists for Brethren who would like to receive communications (Decrees, Resolutions, letters etc.) issued by The Grand lodge of Spain directly, without passing through intermediaries, and so be able to be kept fully inforned of everything that goes on in our Order.

FreemasonsFreemasonry has been active in the Province of Valencia since the 1980's. Today there are approximately 570 members meeting in 25 Lodges across the Province. We are constitutionally part of the Grand Lodge of Spain.

Due to the cosmopolitan makeup of the Province, which stretches from the southern border of Cataluña in the north to the northern border of Murcia in the south, (please see map in 'Where we meet' there are masons from many countries attending Lodge Meetings. The meetings are therefore held in a variety of languages including Spanish, English, German and Dutch, depending on the Lodge. Most of the Lodges work in Emulation although there are three that work in Scottish rite.
